Abu Dhabi: Hosting an event? How to obtain permission for artists – News

Organizing a corporate event with entertainment performances? In Abu Dhabi, a permit is required for entertainers, including singers, dancers, painters and any other performers.

Owners of venues, restaurants, hotels or event organizers can apply for this permit through the TAMM portal. The organizer can apply for a monthly permit for each performer (valid from 1 to 6 months) or a 7-day temporary permit, which can be issued to an unlimited number of performers.


Here are the required documents, fees, and things to consider for both types of artist permits.

Artist’s permission

Required documents




  • Recent personal photo
  • Emirates ID
  • Letter of no objection from parents (if the artist is under 21 years old)
  • Passport for non-residents
  • Letter of commitment from the organizer regarding compliance with the rules of the Department of Culture and Tourism (if alcohol is served at the event)

Fees

  • The monthly fee for each artist is AED 500.
  • Renewable fee for a period of 1 to 6 months monthly for each artist – 500 dirhams.
  • Service processing fee is AED 200.
  • 10 percent of event ticket price (if applicable)

What to pay attention to

  • An entertainment permit is unique and tied to a specific individual; it cannot be transferred
  • Partygoers must be over 21 years of age (in nightclubs or bars)
  • A special permit must be obtained if alcohol will be served at the event (for venues without a special license).
  • An artist’s permit is valid for a period of 1 to 6 months.

Temporary Entertainment Permit

Required documents

  • Recent personal photo
  • Passport or Emirates ID
  • Letter of no objection from parents (if the artist is under 21 years old)
  • Letter of commitment from the organizer regarding compliance with the rules of the Department of Culture and Tourism (if alcohol is served at the event)

Fees

  • Unlimited artist fee valid for 7 days – AED 5,000.
  • The application fee is AED 200.
  • 10 percent of event ticket price (if applicable)

What to pay attention to

  • An entertainment permit is unique and tied to a specific individual; it cannot be transferred
  • Partygoers must be over 21 years of age (in nightclubs or bars)
  • A special permit must be obtained if alcohol will be served at the event (for venues without a special license).
  • Renewal requests must be submitted before the existing permit expires. The extension period will not exceed six months.
