Tigers beat Vanderbilt

Heading into tonight’s game against Vanderbilt, Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers desperately needed a win. In a close game against the Commodores, they got exactly what they needed.

LSU’s offense showed signs of life for the first time in nearly three weeks as they picked up more yards in the air and on the ground than Diego Pavia and Vandy’s offense.

Tonight we’ll see the Tigers create a new uniform combination. The Tigers wore gold jerseys with purple numbers. I have my doubts about this form, so we will focus on what happened here on the field. I’ll leave that up to you.

Let’s take a look at the players whose stocks rose or fell in this game.

Sub: Josh Williams

It’s great to see Josh Williams score touchdowns for the Tigers. He finished the night as LSU’s leading rusher with 14 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns.

You guys know as well as I do that LSU needed a win badly in this game. They achieved this by fending off a tough Vandy team.

Stock Up: Garrett Nussmeier

Speaking of getting back on track, Garrett Nussmeier was very effective in the win over the Commodores. He finished the game 28 of 37, throwing for 332 yards and a touchdown.

Declining inventory: inability to generate turnover

Although LSU won the game, the Tiger defense was unable to produce any interceptions or Vandy attempts. The Commodores’ only turnover was on downs.

Stock up: crime has life

As it turns out, LSU’s offense still has the ability to score some points. The Tigers beat Vandy 332-186 in the air and 139-122 on the ground.
