Could the Raiders trade a stunning blockbuster for a superstar WR?

The Las Vegas Raiders will undoubtedly need to add some weapons this offseason.

While quarterback is obviously the club’s most pressing issue, it won’t matter who the Raiders have under center if they don’t have any targets.

Las Vegas traded Davante Adams at the trade deadline, leaving the Raiders with Jakobi Meyers and little else at wide receiver.

There will be several there are interesting options in free agency, be it Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin or anyone else.

However, Las Vegas may also want to explore the trade market, and if the right circumstances arise, there could be some shocking names on the market.

What about Cincinnati Bengals superstar Ja’Marr Chase, for example?

Chase hasn’t hesitated to voice his displeasure in Cincinnati lately. In particular, he expressed some disappointment with Bengals head coach Zac Taylor regarding the play call.

This doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll suddenly demand a trade, but it’s important to keep in mind that Chase doesn’t have a new contract yet and will enter the final year of his deal next season.

So, could Cincinnati consider moving Chase?

If the Bengals do inquire about Chase, the Raiders should certainly be one of the first teams to call.

Chase is just 24 years old and one of the best pass catchers in all of football, so he would be a fantastic Day 1 target for whichever Vegas quarterback decides to select in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Yes, Chase will be expensive, but it’s worth it. As solid as Meyers is, he is not a No. 1 receiver. However, he’s a good No. 2, and the combination of Chase and Meyers – with tight end Brock Bowers to boot – will give the rookie signal caller an excellent arsenal at his disposal.

Chase has already surpassed the 1,000-yard mark this season, and there’s still plenty of time left. In Week 12, he led the league in all three major receiving categories (receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns).

The Bengals aren’t exactly known as a team that spends a ton of money, so while it would be surprising to see them put Chase up for sale, it wouldn’t be the weirdest.

And if that happens, the Raiders should take full advantage of this golden opportunity.
