The bride invited her Labrador to the wedding, she is hysterical about what is happening

Pets are undoubtedly part of the family, so it’s natural to think about inviting them to your wedding. But judging by a recent TikTok video, it’s easy to see why some might think twice about including them in the big day’s events.

With 719,000 views, the clip shows Hazel, a brown Labrador, falling asleep during a car ride – apparently after her owner’s wedding. The footage then cuts to a slideshow of images showing why she is so tired.

Hazel can be seen running and rolling on the beach where her owners tied the knot, and even jumping for joy in one shot. She is also shown jumping on her hostess’s white dress, but the bride remains unperturbed, noting in the caption: “Wedding day Zumas are the best.”

The new wife, who goes by @saysayvance on TikTok, is encouraging other engaged couples to view her video as a “sign” to invite their furry friends on their big day.

At the time of writing, the Nov. 8 video has more than 138,000 likes and nearly 170 comments.

“Body slamming at the end lol,” one user said, referring to the image of Hazel jumping onto the back of her owner’s dress.

“My lab will be IN the water, but for now he’s happy,” said another, to which Hazel’s owner replied: “Oh, she’s been in it, out of it, rolling around in the sand and back in it, but I wouldn’t have had our day any other way.” !!”

Another user wrote: “Personally, I’m always bored at weddings so this would make things a lot better.”

It’s true that dogs are welcomed by wedding guests—or at least that’s what dog owners think. A 2022 study found that 76 percent of respondents thought their guests would respond positively to having dogs at their wedding.

The study, which included 2,000 dog owners, was commissioned by Amazon Handmade and conducted by OnePoll. It says 60 percent of respondents knew someone who included their dog in their wedding.

But it doesn’t end there: dogs are more than just guests. In some cases, they play their part and, more importantly, take responsibility.

The most popular roles for dogs on the big day were ring bearer (50 percent), flower girl (17 percent) and page boy (13 percent).

But not every pet can make it onto the wedding guest list. Zoe Burke, wedding expert and editor of Hitched.co.uk, previously said: Newsweek: “Not all dogs will be comfortable with all the things that a wedding entails: loud music, large groups of people milling around, lack of comfortable seating areas. So there’s a lot to take into account first.”

Newsweek reached out to @saysayvance for comment and was unable to verify the details of the case.
