Fatima Fertilizer has the distinct honor of becoming the first private sector organization in Pakistan to partner with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) by adopting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Impact Framework.

In this regard, Fatima Fertilizer, in collaboration with UNDP, recently launched a special report entitled “Impacting the SDGs through Business: A Sustainability Framework for Fatima Fertilizer”, which describes how the company has integrated an impact assessment system into its business operations, reflecting eight critical areas that are aligned with achieving the relevant UN SDGs.

The event brought together government officials, development sector representatives, private sector partners and sustainability experts to celebrate Fatima Fertilizer’s outstanding achievements in promoting sustainable agriculture, environmental protection and social responsibility.

Rabel Sadozai, Director of Marketing and Sales at Fatima Group, further emphasized the importance of the release of the report, saying: “This sustainability framework will strengthen our resolve and inspire us to further accelerate our sustainability efforts. The UNDP and Fatima Fertilizer teams worked tirelessly to develop a one-of-a-kind framework to set an example that will encourage other private sector organizations to adopt sustainable practices.”

Dr. Samuel Rizk, Resident Representative of UNDP Pakistan, commended Fatima Fertilizer for its efforts to integrate the SDGs into its business strategies and operations. He noted that this innovative move aligns Fatima Fertilizer’s sustainability initiatives with the SDG goals relevant to its core business. “By voluntarily developing its own SDG reporting framework with support from UNDP, Fatima Fertilizer has demonstrated that businesses can realize both financial benefits and make a positive contribution to social well-being through sustainable practices,” he said.

Asad Murad, Chief Operating Officer of Fatima Fertilizer, emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to national and global development, saying: “At Fatima Fertilizer, we firmly believe that sustainable development represents the future of responsible business. This collaboration with UNDP in developing our Sustainable Development Framework demonstrates our strong commitment to making a meaningful contribution. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister of National Food Security and Research, attended the event as the chief guest. By adopting innovative and sustainable practices, we can increase agricultural productivity, address food security challenges and pave the way for a greener and more equitable future for Pakistan.
