Jo Lycett shares candid insight into parenting after ‘surprise’ baby: ‘Cried a lot’

Joe Lycett surprised many when the comedian confirmed he had given birth to his first child at the end of October.

Late Night Lycette the star recently appeared on Parental hell podcast where he confessed he spent most of the first month in tears, thinking about his son’s future.

He explained: “I did a lot, I mean less now, but the first two weeks I cried a lot because I was nostalgic for the future and imagining what he would be like when he was 20, and then worried about him when he became an old man and I couldn’t be there for him.

Joe confirmed the birth of his son with an adorable photo of the new dad swaddling his newborn in a thick black coat.

Joe became a father in October

Sharing the news of his baby, the 36-year-old joked that he will appear on television. Parental hell podcast hosted by his friends Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett.

“I LOVE being a dad, but unfortunately I think that now means I can’t give up the Rob (Beckett) and Josh (Widdicombe) (expletive) podcast,” he joked. “We will not be accepting any press inquiries on this matter as we have already sold the rights to the first family photo to Autotrader.”

The comedian appeared on the Parenting Hell podcast.

The birth of his son Joe occurred shortly after the former Sewing bee the host said he was dating a woman he called “Denise” to keep her identity a secret.

Appearing on the Bimini Bon Bulash podcast, PartsJoe shared: “So I have a cat, Winston, and my partner, Denise. And, um, her name is not Denise, but I’m not talking about her because she has a job that she can’t work. I call her Denise because she hates the name Denise, so I live with Denise.”

The star joked that some did not expect him to become a father

Although Joe was open about his pansexuality, he admitted his baby announcement took many by surprise. He said on Parenting Hell that “having a child was unexpected for me.” because a lot of people think of me as the gay guy on TV“.
