Pedestrian hit by train in Kalamazoo, part of main street closed

KALAMAZOO, MI – One person is dead after a pedestrian was struck by a train in Kalamazoo on Saturday.

According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS), the incident occurred around 12:50 p.m. near the intersection of West Main and Elm streets.

We are advised that the entrance to West Main Street is closed to traffic and is expected to remain closed for several hours.

Motorists are advised to take a different route.
