The woman admitted to the Molinette Hospital in Turin is in critical condition. According to hospital sources, the woman is in the operating room undergoing neck surgery because she injured herself with a kitchen knife while, according to investigators, trying to commit suicide.

Antonio, father of the child

Carola’s partner, father Perlababy name Antonio Parriello, 36 years old. In despair, he repeats: “Carola and I have been together for 18 years. Perla was our dream.”

It was he who called for help, trying to save the baby after an attempt at resuscitation. Nearby was the mother, wounded with a kitchen knife. The investigation has been entrusted to the Carabinieri, coordinated by Ivrea prosecutor Elena Parato.

Postpartum depression

According to the initial reconstruction, the cause of infanticide could have been a severe form of postpartum depression. Apparently, the woman had been in treatment for over a year and was supposed to see a psychologist in the afternoon, but missed the session.

According to investigative sources, the woman had psychological problems from the first months of pregnancy, and therefore she was under the supervision of a psychologist. After killing her daughter, she allegedly tried to commit suicide with a knife. However, her condition is not life-threatening.

The news shocked residents of Nole, a town of about 6,000 people, who remember watching the couple go about their daily routine, unaware of the imminent tragedy. The photo shows a family taking a peaceful walk: mom and dad with Perla’s stroller and their little dog.

Carola Finatti’s mother, according to La Stampa, is a widow and works as a hairdresser in nearby Villanova Canavese. Upon learning of what had happened, she rushed to Via Grazioli when her daughter had already been taken to the hospital.
