House bill would allow Trump to strip any organization of its nonprofit status

The House of Representatives will consider a bill that would give President-elect Donald Trump’s administration unilateral authority to strip the nonprofit status of any organization deemed to be a “terrorist supporter.” However, many are concerned that the bill, called the Stop Terrorism Financing and Tax Penalties for American Hostages Act, will be used to silence critics of the new administration.

This segment will air on November 20, 2024. Audio will be available after the broadcast.
