Special Adviser Dare refutes allegations of ethnic bias in Tinubu’s security appointments

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Publicity and Orientation, Sunday Dare, on Saturday debunked claims that the appointment of security personnel by President Bola Tinubu’s administration was skewed in favor of the Yoruba ethnic group.

Dare, who refuted popular allegations against President Tinubu’s administration, said facts do not lie.

President Tinubu’s recent appointment of Major General Olufemi Oluede as the Acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has sparked reactions on social media with allegations that the current administration led by a Yoruba man is favoring his own people over other parts of the country, especially in appointments to security sector.

But in a well-written fact sheet, Dare explained that the North has received the most security sector appointments with 15 appointees, while the South has seven appointees for a total of 22.

He also said the highest preference was given to North West with eight appointees, followed by North Central with four appointees and North East with three.

Dare also reported that the South West gained the most in the South with five appointments, while the South East and South South gained the least with one seat each.

He noted that while the South West currently heads the Nigerian Army (NA), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the North -West is led by the Ministry of Defense (MOD), Defense Headquarters (DHQ), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS),

He said the South East is headed only by the Nigerian Navy (NN) while the North East is led by the National Security Adviser (NSA), heads of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU). ).

Additionally, the South-South is headed only by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), while the North-Central Directorate controls the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service ( NIS). .
