The National Rugby League (NRL) has today confirmed the date for the 2024 Pacific Championship final, with four matches in a row to be played at CommBank Stadium in Sydney next Sunday (November 10).

The four-header blockbuster will draw fans from across the Pacific region, including Australia, Tonga, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Samoa, to attend the biggest day of international rugby league ever played on Australian soil.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo says everything is in place for a historic day in International Rugby League.

“The Pacific Rim Championship is becoming the largest international sporting event in the region,” Mr Abdo said.

“Next Sunday’s final will not only feature four high-stakes Test matches, but will also be a celebration of Pacific culture, bringing together fans from five different countries to create a festive atmosphere that has never been seen before in our game.

“This is a great opportunity for fans to experience something completely new and also to see some of the best players in our game representing their country on the international stage,” Abdo said.

After a stunning one-point win over the Kiwis in Auckland, Tonga will be in contention for the top prize when they meet the unbeaten Mala Meninga Kangaroos in the men’s Pacific Cup final at 4:05pm AEDT.

The Kangaroos reached the final after beating Tonga (18-0) and defending champions New Zealand (22-10) in the round-robin, while Tonga’s incredible one-point win over the Kiwis put them on the brink of history.

The Women’s Pacific Cup final will be a rematch of the 2023 decider as the Jillaroos look to turn the tables on their rivals the New Zealand Kiwi Ferns at 1.50pm AEDT.

The Jillaroos reached the final without conceding a point in the round-robin, thrashing PNG 84-0 before recording a hard-fought 14-0 win over New Zealand. The Kiwi Ferns joined them in the decider as they thrashed PNG Orchids 36-0 in Port Moresby today.

The quadruple header at the CommBank Stadum will also include the deciding men’s and women’s promotion/relegation play-offs, with the winners playing in the Pacific Cup in 2025.

The 2024 Pacific Championships Final is proudly supported by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

Tickets start at just $25 for adults and $50 for families. They can be purchased now at nrl.com/tickets.

All four matches will be shown live on the Nine Network, Fox League, Kayo Sports, 9NOW and Sky NZ.
