Delta girls soccer team wins Midwest Championship, defeating Owens

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. (WNEM) – Delta hosted the Midwest District Tournament finals at Owens Community College on Saturday.

Second half, Delta up 2-0 on a corner kick, Alexa Verhelst with a perfectly placed ball in front of the net and Kendall Jackson’s heel into the back net as Delta extends their lead.

Later in the half, a free kick for Delta, Jackson finds the ball first, gets around the defense and hits a grounder who simply sneaks past the keeper towards the goal.

Delta would win 4-0 to once again be the Midwest District champion and with the win would earn a berth in the NJCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
