Watch SpaceX Crew-9 astronauts move the Crew Dragon spacecraft to its new ISS mooring site on November 3.

Four astronauts will move a SpaceX spacecraft to the space station on Sunday (November 3), and you can watch the event live.

SpaceX Crew-9 astronauts, including two crew members previously aboard the Boeing Starliner, will transport their Crew Dragon to the International Space Station. ISS procedures require all astronauts assigned to the spacecraft to board for relocation if something minor occurs that would force the group to return to Earth early.

The live stream will begin at 6:15 a.m. EST (1315 GMT) courtesy of NASA+ and possibly the agency’s YouTube if NASA puts it there as well.

If the event goes according to plan, the four astronauts will temporarily undock from the ISS Harmony module at 6:35 a.m. EST (1335 GMT) and re-dock at 7:18 a.m. EST (1418 GMT ), moving from the front port to the space-facing port.

There will be on board NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov, originally assigned to Crew 9, along with former Starliner astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams of NASA.

The Starliner duo were reassigned to Crew 9 after NASA decided it was too much of a risk to fly them home safely aboard a Boeing spacecraft to complete a test mission to the ISS. Starliner experienced unexpected problems with its propulsion system while docking with the ISS on June 6, and the cause and solution could not be determined after nearly two months of troubleshooting.

NASA initially planned to launch the agency’s two other astronauts, Zena Cardman and Stephanie Wilson, aboard Crew-9. They were removed from the mission to leave two empty slots for Williams and Wilmore to return to Earth with the rest of Crew 9 in February 2025. (Wilson and Cardman remain eligible to participate in future missions to the ISS.)

The Crew Dragon move will make room for the cargo version of the spacecraft, also called Dragon, to dock at the Harmony Freeport following its scheduled launch on Monday (November 4).
