Watch Cardi B’s powerful speech at the Kamala Harris Rally in Milwaukee

Cardi B gave an impassioned speech in support of Kamala Harris and condemned Donald Trump’s stance on women’s rights at a rally in Milwaukee on Friday.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” Cardi B told the crowd at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. “I do not take lightly the call to show up, the call to speak out, the call to convey the message that is on my heart right now.”

“Like Kamala Harris, I too was an outsider, underestimated, my success belittled and discredited. Let me tell you something: women have to work ten times harder, perform ten times better, and still people wonder how we got to the top. I can’t stand bullies, but like Kamala, I always fight back.”

The rapper confessed for the first time – as she said Rolling Stone in May – that she does not intend to support Donald Trump or Joe Biden in the 2024 elections. In fact, “I wasn’t planning on voting this year,” she said. “But Kamala Harris joining the race completely changed my mind.”

“I didn’t believe any candidate until she joined the race and said what I wanted to hear, what I wanted to see next in this country,” she added. “I believe every word that comes out of her mouth. She is passionate, compassionate, empathetic, and most importantly, no-nonsense. Kamala recognizes that this country is in danger. That the economy needs to get stronger, that the cost of food and the cost of living are too high.”

Cardi then detailed some of Harris’ policies that she supports before turning her attention to the vice president’s opponent.

“Did you hear what Donnie Trump said the other day? … He says he’s going to stand up for women whether they like it or not,” Cardi B said.

“Protecting women, especially when we’re talking about maternal and mental health, doesn’t mean telling them what to do with their bodies. This is the support and care they need to do what they want to do with their body. People like Donald Trump don’t believe women deserve rights. And when these rights are taken away, they are nowhere to be found.”

She continued, “Well, if his definition of protection is not freedom of choice, if his definition of protection is that our daughters have fewer rights than our mothers, then I don’t want that!”

Cardi then called Trump a “crook,” but “taking away women’s rights over their bodies is a disgusting job. Conning Americans out of their hardworking money by selling Trump watches, Trump sneakers, Trump Bibles… do we really trust this man with our economy? A man who only cares about getting rich and cutting taxes for his billionaire friends. I won’t even get a tax cut!”

Hours after her speech in Milwaukee, Cardi B continued to bash Harris and criticize Trump on social media: “Donald Trump says he has concepts of a plan… but the only concept of a plan he has is a plan, to confuse YOU.”
