Cardi B persists through teleprompter glitch to support Harris

Rapper Cardi B took the stage in Wisconsin to give a speech at Vice President Harris’ campaign rally on Friday, but an apparent teleprompter glitch caused the performer to trip before she could begin.

Cardi B was among the celebrities at the third and final Harris Rally in Wisconsin, in the Milwaukee suburb of West Allis. Milwaukee is home to a majority of Wisconsin’s Democratic votes, but its conservative suburbs are home to a majority of Republicans.

When Cardi B stood in front of the podium, it turned out that the teleprompter was not displaying her speech.

“One second guys, one second,” the rapper said as the crowd cheered.

The “WAP” singer tried to work the crowd for nearly two minutes before the apparent glitch was corrected.

“I’m a little nervous, guys! I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” she said as the crowd continued to cheer the rapper on.

“What I need here is Patience. Patience, where are you, girl? Cardi B said, referring to the employee.

Eventually, the woman brought Cardi B a cell phone so the rapper could start his performance.

“I spent time writing this speech, so I’m going to try to get it right,” Cardi B told the crowd.

At one point during the performance, the rapper addressed former President Trump.

“Did you hear what Donnie Trump said the other day?” Cardi B said, referring to Trump’s statement that he will stand up for women “whether they like it or not.”

“Donnie, don’t,” she said. “Please.”

Trump held a dueling rally across the city in Milwaukee, in the same arena that hosted the Republican National Convention in July.
