USC Trojans battle Notre Dame for top 100 linebacker recruit Madden Faraimo

USC Trojans battle Notre Dame for top 100 linebacker recruit Madden Faraimo

Four-star linebacker Madden Faraimo is being recruited by nearly every school in the country, including the USC Trojans. Faraimo is the No. 3 overall prospect in California and the No. 62 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

The athletic linebacker currently plays for J. Serra Catholic High School, giving the Trojans a proximity advantage when recruiting Faraimo. USC is battling Notre Dame, Texas and Washington for a spot in the top 100. He has already visited each school, but intends to visit some schools again.

According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Faraimo scheduled three key visits in November before making his decision. Faraimo was at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for USC’s season opener against Utah State, and he will return for the final game of the year against Notre Dame on Nov. 30.

Additionally, Simmons reports that Faraimo will visit Notre Dame on November 9th and plans to visit Texas on November 23rd. Faraimo told Simmons earlier this summer that he wanted to take his time making a decision.

“There is no wrong choice. I’m just trying to find the best one for me,” Faraimo said. “It would be hard to say no to three schools, but it would be even worse to say yes to one and then turn around, say no and refuse. commit. My morals as a person don’t really align with that, so I spend more time trying to make a better decision.”

If Washington doesn’t get a second visit from Faraimo, the Huskies’ chances of landing a four-star recruit will diminish. Notre Dame appears to have momentum for their recruit as they have several projections on 247Sports, but Faraimo hasn’t given much indication as to which school is in the lead.

Trojans defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn has already made major improvements on defense in his first year at USC, and bringing in new recruits like Faraimo will certainly help Lynn progress. The elite linebacker prospect told Simmons some of the reasons why he’s still considering the Trojans.

“USC is unique in that it is located close to home. I had cousins play there, my brother went there, and my family lived down the street, so it was different at USC. The staff also stands out,” Faraimo said.

Faraimo is currently the highest-rated uncommitted recruit in California and the highest-rated uncommitted linebacker in the country. The Trojans have the No. 10 recruiting class in the country with 23 commits, according to 247Sports. Faraimo will be USC’s third-highest-rated recruit.
