Adelaide Temperatures could reach 35°C today as heat waves emanate from central Australia.
Extreme fire danger is predicted in a number of fire-prone areas. South Australia including the West Coast, East Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Mt Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Riverland and Murraylands.

“Hot and dry with fresh and strong north-north-westerly winds ahead of cool and gusty south-westerly winds moving in from the west on Saturday afternoon and night,” the Bureau of Meteorology said.

The heatwave will move into Sydney tomorrow when temperatures in the city could dip into the 30s.

This system will move into southeast Queensland from Monday and much of next week, where temperatures are expected to rise.

This is also the official start of tropical cyclone season in Queensland.

Widespread storms have hit locations from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

To the surprise of residents, a vision of a tornado was also recorded along the Brisbane River.

A rotating column of air and moisture originated from a supercell thunderstorm.

There were no reports of damage due to the location of the tornado.
