Melania Trump leaves New York with son Barron for next ‘big step’ ahead of US election

Melania Trump is making moves just in time for the US elections! She was spotted packing an impressive collection of Louis Vuitton luggage outside Trump Tower in New York on Friday. The duo was reportedly on a trip to South Florida with her son Barron, who is a freshman at New York University. The surprise move comes as Melania has largely stayed out of the campaign spotlight, making her return to election night festivities the talk of the town. Whether Barron will attend the event remains a mystery.

On Nov. 1, the Post reported that the former first lady, who recently made headlines at a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden where the couple was seen dancing, kissing and hugging, was spotted flying to Florida with her son Barron. Melania was seen loading several bags of clothing emblazoned with the presidential seal into a black SUV near Trump Tower downtown. Some of the luxurious luggage was even carelessly thrown into the back of the packed car. Melania moved to New York after their son Barron attended New York University’s Stern School of Business.

The former first lady is confirmed to attend Election Night festivities at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, which is just a short drive from Mar-a-Lago. This happened immediately after a recent assassination attempt on her husband, which the security service quickly dealt with. It’s interesting to see her back in the spotlight after largely retreating from the political scene this election cycle.

She was much more involved during Trump’s first term, but now keeps a low profile. This would be her back-to-back appearance after dinner with AI Smith, where she mostly kept a straight face and MSG rally. Not to mention, she also attended the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, just days after the dramatic incident in Butler, Pennsylvania, although she did not take the stage to speak.

Trump campaign to hold party on election night

Voting for the 2024 General Election began on Monday 21 October and runs until Sunday 3 November. On election night, Tuesday, November 5th, Donald Trump’s team is throwing a party in West Palm Beach. This is different from before, as during the 2022 election and Super Tuesday, Trump’s club in Palm Beach typically hosted watch parties.

Trump and Harris are tied in recent national polls, especially in seven important states. A recent CBS poll shows Harris only slightly ahead of Trump, with 50% of people likely to vote for her to 49% for Trump. That’s a drop of just over half from when she was in the lead. At the same time, the ABC News/Ipsos poll shows Harris leading again by just over half to half, thanks to her strong support from women voters.
