Pitt County Schools to appoint new superintendent

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – One East Carolina County school district will appoint a new superintendent early next week.

The Pitt County Board of Education says it will appoint a new district superintendent at its board meeting at 5 p.m. Monday.

WITN reported May 6 that Dr. Steve Lassiter will take over as interim superintendent after former superintendent Dr. Ethan Lenker retires.

It is unclear whether Dr. Lassiter will become the new superintendent.
