With the holidays and travel season approaching, Darden shared her tips for maintaining glowing skin before, during and after your flight.

Before you board a plane, founder of Shani Darden Skincare recommends a regimen filled with high-quality products that meet your specific skin care needs.

Frankie Marin

“Start with Cleansing Serumwhich is a gentle cleanser with hyaluronic acid to hydrate skin, oat bran to restore moisture balance and olive extract to soothe irritation and inflammation. Next use Serum Pro-Heal from iS Clinical to protect the skin and offset the effects of oxidative stress,” she says.

“For extra hydration, use Hydrating volumizing serum And Intensive renewing eye cream. Finish with Play Everyday SPF from Supergoopone of my favorite sunscreens. It’s moisturizing without causing nasal congestion and has an SPF of 50,” Darden adds.

When you’re in the air, the skincare guru suggests incorporating a few essentials into your routine while you sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight.

“I always travel with my Face sculpting stick and use it when I’m on board. This really helps counteract the puffiness from flying and will maintain the shape of your face. I usually wear eye masks to hydrate the skin under my eyes. After I remove the eye mask, I apply eye cream and enjoy applying it with a stick to help the product penetrate deeper,” she shares.

Then it’s time to reapply sunscreen.

“When you travel by plane, the UV rays are much more intense, so it’s important to protect yourself. …UV rays can penetrate clouds, windows, etc., so even if you’re inside all day, wearing sunscreen is essential to keeping your skin healthy,” Darden notes.

Once you reach your destination, the cosmetologist will offer to restore your complexion with Signature Triple Acid Peeling.

And even if you land in a cold climate, it’s important to have SPF on hand.

“Everyone is always trying to reverse the signs of aging, but you can prevent brown spots, discoloration, fine lines and wrinkles by protecting your skin from sun exposure, which includes wearing sunscreen no matter the weather,” Darden explains.

Finally, don’t let jet lag hit you before your nightly routine is complete.

“Clean again and add Retinol Reform, I recommend this serum to all my clients to keep their skin glowing between facials. … Then reapply your hydrating serum and eye cream. Then apply Moisturizing Peptide Cream to provide deep hydration and support the skin barrier,” she says.
