Return: Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend for most of the US

Ends this Sunday summer time when most people around the world US retreat by setting your watch back one hour.

This is your notice that a time change is coming. Here’s what you need to know about the end of Daylight Saving Time and how to prepare yourself and your family before it happens.

When does daylight saving time end?

The clocks will officially turn back an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday.

If you use your smartphone as an alarm clock, you don’t need to do anything. However, if your wake-up reminder is an analog or digital clock not connected to Wi-Fi, set your clock an hour ahead before you go to bed.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, daylight saving time occurs from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. The U.S. Department of Transportation has overseen changing times since 1966, when Congress transferred responsibility from the Interstate Commerce Commission.

How Parents Can Help Children Adjust to the End of Daylight Saving Time

The transition to and from standard time can be difficult for little ones and their parents. Several sleep experts have tips for helping your kids adjust to the time change.

Children’s sleep guru from the “Moms on Call” program there are five steps to switch to standard timestarting with putting your child to bed at a regular time on Saturday night.

According to Moms on Call, the transition can take about three days as families adjust to the time change.

The biggest piece of advice from all sleep experts is to stick to a bedtime routine, whether it’s a bottle, bath and book, or whatever routine works for your baby.
