Manitoba RCMP: Human remains identified as little girl

Manitoba RCMP are seeking more information after the remains of an infant were identified.

Back in June, human remains were found on a property off Highway 6 in Grahamdale.

RCMP believed the remains were those of an infant.

Investigators have now identified the remains as Xavia Skye Lynn Butler, who police believe was between one and two years old at the time of her death.

RCMP said her remains were found in a shed on the property.

The RCMP are investigating her death as a homicide. In a news release Friday, the RCMP said investigators were last able to physically locate her about a year before her death.

Police said there were no missing persons reports.

Investigators are now asking the public for help in trying to find photos of Xavia after March 2022.

“We hope these photographs will be date and time stamped to help us better build a timeline of her life. We also ask anyone who has physically seen Xavia since March 2022 to also contact us with this information,” he said. Cpl. Jill Slobodzian in a press release.

If anyone has information or photographs they are asked to contact RCMP Crime Stoppers.
