Roger Corser’s special bond with his daughter Zipporah

When he’s not starring in Australia’s most successful television shows, Roger Corser is a devoted father to 22-year-old daughter Zipporah.

Doctor Doctor The star and Australian singing queen Christina Anu welcomed Zipporah together in 2002, and although their relationship did not last, they continued to co-parent their only child together harmoniously.

Roger and Christina were together for six years after falling in love on the set of the hugely successful 1998 musical play. Rentwhich toured Melbourne and Sydney.

Following in the footsteps of her famous parents, the stunning 22-year-old passed her final year 12 exams at Performing Arts High School in 2020 and has been pursuing her musical ambitions ever since.

Meanwhile, Christina makes sure her daughter is fully aware of how challenging the entertainment industry can be.

“She’s a rising artist herself, and I think every element of the choices I’ve made throughout my career are role models for her,” she said. Now to love in 2020.

“Everything I do to prepare and every way I present myself in front of the public and on television and the choice of jobs I take is everything she will or will not take.”

Roger and Christina separated in 2004 after six years of marriage. Underbelly In 2007, the star married former theater actress Renee Berry.

The couple has three children; son Budd, daughter Cilla and son Dustin, while hitmaker Christina has an eldest son Quiam from a previous relationship.

Roger previously opened Marie Claire about racism in Australia and how it affected his family.

“My eldest daughter Zippy has Torres Strait Islander heritage, so this issue is particularly close to my heart,” he said in 2020.

“I’ve noticed over the years that Australia has done a lot for multiculturalism – which is amazing – but I think what’s missing is recognition of Indigenous people and the merging of cultures.”

Zipporah said that as a light-skinned Indigenous woman, she has experienced “colorism” and prejudice.

“I’m told I can’t do certain things because I’m not dark enough or Aboriginal enough,” she said.

“But I’m lucky that my parents are both represented in the media, so I have the opportunity to share my voice through my mother as a Torres Strait Islander woman and my father as a non-Indigenous man.”

Zipporah described her famous mother’s hits as “the script of my life” after singing family songs in the Torres Strait Island dialect of Kalau Kawau Ya as a child.

“She always asked me when I was younger and I would say no, I’m not ready yet. But now it has become more important because I started singing a lot myself,” she told the magazine. Sydney Morning Herald in 2019.

“It’s scary. She’s my mom, but she’s also an accomplished artist. For me, I never considered her an Australian icon because she is my mother. But the more concerts I sing with her, the more I think: oh yeah, clearly that’s her job, and that’s why people know her for that.”

Christina told the publication that Zipporah, whom she and Roger affectionately call Zippy, has matured.

“I think Zippy has grown into her own skin as an artist, and I think she needed to do that in her time, and she’s in that place now,” she said.

“I certainly wasn’t as confident as she was at her age, that’s for sure! They’re made of something completely different these days, and that’s who she is. It’s such a pleasure to be her mom and perform with someone who truly loves what she does.”

When Zipporah graduated from high school in 2022, Roger and Christina attended her 12th grade graduation with her.

Underbelly The star has been married to Renee, a former stage actress, since October 2007 after they were introduced to each other by their mutual agent.
