The head of the service said that there will be no reduction in working days for civil servants amid rising fuel prices.

The Federation’s head of service, Didi Walson-Jack, says there will be no reduction in working hours for civil servants in the country, despite the high cost of fuel and the resulting difficulties that workers face in commuting to work every day.

However, the service chief says there are various plans in place to mitigate the current austerity of public servants and ensure that workers feel comfortable and work in an atmosphere that will help them perform optimally.

Walson-Jack said this while speaking before the House of Representatives Committee on Public Service of the National Assembly. She said the Federal Government prioritizes the welfare of workers and this is evident in the timely payment of the appropriate wage adjustments that workers are now enjoying.

The Chairman of the Committee, the Hon. Sani Umar Bala in his inaugural address directed the CM to focus on training, capacity building and employee welfare for achieving optimum performance.
