Interpreter is due to take his place in the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday after undergoing a second veterinary examination on Friday.

Racing Victoria announced on Friday night that Interpretation will wear the Equicast on his left front leg when he competes in his third Melbourne Cup as he and 10 other Cup contenders were cleared to race at the first mandatory inspection.

A second veterinary examination of all 24 final adopters will take place on Monday.

On Friday, such projects as “Absurd”, “Kinesiology”, “Knight’s Choice”, “Sea King”, “Vauban” and “Warp Speed” in Melbourne and Athabaskan, “Map”, “Trust in You” were tested and found suitable » and the Waltham Interstate.

Earlier in the day, RV announced: “Mission of Love, trained by John Simons and Sheila Lacson, was found unfit after inspection and was withdrawn from the race by RV stewards on the advice of veterinarians.

“The Brian Ellison-trained Onesmooth operator suffered a cut to his right rear heel and was not considered fit. Tomorrow (Saturday) the horse will be re-examined after re-shoeing.

“The interpretation, trained by Ciaron Maher, was retested today after a change in her gait was discovered during an inspection yesterday. She was found fit today and will wear the Equicast on her left front leg.

“The remaining 16 horses on the third eligibility list were tested yesterday and passed their first pre-race medical examination as fit.”

The Melbourne Cup final will take place on Saturday at 4.30pm (AEDT).
