Coldplay unveils Hollywood cameo for Australian show

Coldplay shocked the crowd at their Melbourne concert by bringing the 1980s film legend on stage in a surprise cameo.

Karate Kid Actor Ralph Macchio came on stage during the show to help the band perform the song. Karate Kidfrom their new album Moon music.

Macchio, 62, lip-synced to frontman Chris Martin’s vocals before the pair warmly embraced in front of the crowd at the sold-out concert.

Macchio became a household name in the 1980s, playing Daniel LaRusso in three films. Karate Kid films, and most recently reprized the iconic role in the Netflix series Cobra Kai.

According to a Coldplay fan account on social media, footage of the actor’s on-stage cameo will be used as a music video when Karate Kid released as a single.

The famous actor was previously spotted in the audience at Wednesday’s Coldplay show at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium as he flew in from New York to attend the concert.
