A P-plater escaped injury after the car flipped eight times on the Hume Highway in Casula.

A P-plater from Sydney’s west escaped a major crash with just a few cuts after his car flipped eight times on a busy highway.

The ordeal was captured on dash cam and CCTV as the white Audi sped through traffic before taking off, flipping eight times onto the wrong side of the Hume Highway at Casool about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

The Audi then landed vertically, but the 17-year-old driver inside was miraculously uninjured.

Witnesses quickly rushed to the driver’s aid as he managed to escape the scene of the accident with only a minor arm injury.

“It’s very horrific… It’s very emotional,” witness Abhinandan Kumar said.

“The car… One side was completely damaged.”

“The angle he flipped at… He was lucky, that’s all I can say.”

The driver was taken to Liverpool Hospital and underwent mandatory testing.

A sedan was also involved in the accident, but the 25-year-old driver was also uninjured.

Local residents told 9News the section of the Hume Highway is notorious for accidents and called on the council to implement better safety measures.
