Lee Health is the first multi-specialty health system in the United States to be designated an ASHP Center of Excellence in Medication Safety.

Lee Health, based in Fort Myers, Florida, became the first multi-specialty health system in the United States to earn the American Society of Health System Pharmacists’ Certified Center of Excellence in Medication Safety and Pharmacy Practice designation.

The recognition places Lee Health among six pharmacy systems nationwide to receive this designation, according to an Oct. 30 press release from Lee Health. Becker. ASHP certification evaluates healthcare organizations against established standards to improve their pharmacy practices and drug safety.

Lee Health operates several facilities, including Lee Memorial Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center, Gulf Coast Medical Center and Cape Coral Hospital.
