Forget energy drinks: the new Novablast 5 from ASICS promises to give you a spring in your step.

The folks at ASICS have just released the Novablast 5, a shoe wonder that’s essentially a convenient energy drink for your feet—without the questionable ingredients or awkward encounters later.

The latest iteration of the brand’s most exciting shoe, the Novablast 5, features the ultra-bouncy FF BLAST MAX that recently debuted in the ASICS Glideride Max.

The new foam appears to increase bounce by 8.5% over its predecessor, meaning you’re practically defying gravity every time you lace up.

Featuring a breathable jacquard mesh upper, an ASICS staple, the Novablast 5 is designed to keep your feet cool and give the entire gym a little shoe envy.

Inspired by the Superblast line (see also: Asics Superblast 2 review), an updated mudguard design with a gusseted tongue provides a snug fit so no more fiddling with the shoe mid-sprint – finally the lockout we didn’t know we needed.

“Visually, we wanted the design to emulate the dynamic feel of the wearer,” explained ASICS senior designer Yosuke Atarashi. Warp speed kaleidoscope.

With a price tag of £135 (about $175/AU$264) and a launch date of December 1, 2024, the Novablast 5 is ready to give you more spring in your step just in time to recover from your vacation.
