Tuy Loan Cooperative awarded for excellence in safe vegetable production

In October 2024, the Vietnam Farmers’ Union awarded 63 cooperatives across the country for their outstanding work, including Danang-based Tuy Loan Cooperative for Safe Vegetable Production and Consumption as one of the recipients. This award serves as a catalyst for the cooperative to further improve production, product quality and promote agricultural and rural development in the region.

Established as the Tuy Loan Vegetable Club in 2002, the cooperative was officially established in 2011 as a result of cooperation between the Hoa Phong Commune Farmers’ Union, the People’s Committee and the Da Nang Cooperative Alliance. It now has 40 members and operates on an area of 8 hectares. The cooperative’s efforts have had a significant impact on the local economy, lifting members out of poverty and stabilizing incomes.

Director Nguyen Van Thanh highlighted the cooperative’s role in providing market access for farmers’ produce, providing permanent employment to 60 local workers and supplying more than 500 tons of vegetables to various retail outlets annually. Their success is attributed to their focus on safe, organic farming that meets VietGAP standards and the development of agricultural tourism, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.

The cooperative’s achievements in expanding production and business activities have been recognized by awards from central and local governments, including a certificate of honor from the Da Nang People’s Committee and an excellent competition flag from the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance. The cooperative is committed to continuing its growth, especially in the areas of high-tech hydroponic vegetable growing and traditional village crafts.
