Those accused of murdering Great Baddow will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Three men accused of killing a man on a residential street in the middle of the day will next appear in court in January 2025.

Kieran Shepherd, 30 years old, died after attack on Midgate Avenue in Great Baddow, near Chelmsford, on Tuesday 15 October.

Joseph Dow, 20, from Greenland Gardens, Great Baddow; Zach O’Keeffe, 19, from Stafford Green in Langdon Hills near Basildon; and Harrison Carpenter, 19, of Ben Wilson Link in Springfield near Chelmsford, are charged with murder and appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court.

No one has yet entered a plea, and a plea and trial preparation hearing is scheduled for Jan. 6.

Mr Shepherd’s family described him as a “kind and loving son, brother and father”.

The statement read: “Our lives will never be the same without him; he will forever remain in our hearts.

“His loss has left a huge hole in the lives of his family and friends.”

The three accused were remanded in custody until their next court appearance.
