SunLive – Last chance to have your say in the TECT elections

Time is running out for Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty voters to have their say in the 2024 TECT trustee election.

With only a few days left to vote, local residents are encouraged to take the chance to take part in the TECT election to help shape the future direction of TECT Community Trust.

Voting is open to all eligible voters in the TECT (Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty) constituency, with online voting available until midday on Wednesday 30 October.

“We encourage all eligible voters to participate in this election and make their voices heard,” said TECT Executive Director Wayne Werder.

“Your voice plays a key role in deciding who will represent our community and determine the strategic direction of the Foundation.”

TECT Trustees play a vital role in the governance of the TECT Community Foundation, ensuring that it continues to benefit current and future generations of the region.

This year’s election will determine who will join the current three trustees, Mark Arundel, Kate Barry-Piceno and Peter Blackwell, to oversee the distribution of TECT’s significant grants and investments that impact a variety of local organizations and initiatives.

TECT supports local initiatives, facilities and events that bring vibrancy, connectivity, growth and economic benefits to the region.

Most local residents, whether they realize it or not, would benefit from TECT community grants in one way or another. There are many community initiatives, programs, events and facilities that people use and rely on every day that would not be available without TECT.
