Murray County opens applications for the 2024-2025 Façade Rehabilitation Grant program to renovate buildings

Prominent buildings in Pinjarra and Dwellingup are ready to shine.

Murray County has opened applications for the 2024-25 façade renovation grant program, which helps landowners and business owners update the appearance of their buildings to revitalize the city’s main streets.

Chief executive Dean Unsworth said high streets are the heart of town centers and “contribute to the character and life of a place”.

“As an incentive to encourage landowners and local business owners to renew their building façades, the program offers successful applicants the opportunity to receive a matching financial contribution towards works that will improve the appearance and help revitalize Pinyarra and Duellingup town centres. “, he said.

Previous recipients include department store Dwellingup, which earlier this year unveiled a bold mural created by internationally renowned Perth artist Kyle Hughes-Odgers.

This fiscal year, the county has allocated $20,000 toward one or more projects.

It will fund up to half the cost of eligible work, with applicants required to contribute a minimum of $2,000.

The program runs for a fiscal year until funds are exhausted; contact the county for more information.
