Presentation: “The Ethics of Disaster: How to Make Good Choices in a World of Difficult Choices” in Fairfield

Dr. Travis Reeder, a bioethicist at Johns Hopkins University, will talk about his new book. “The Ethics of Disaster: How to Make the Right Choice in a World of Difficult Choices”

“My most enduring research…has been on the overarching theme of ‘catastrophe.’ In particular, I am interested in how to engage in ethical reasoning about our own, individual lives in times dominated by massive structural threats that are too large and too complex for any of us to meaningfully deal with on our own. This has led to numerous publications on climate change, pandemics, food ethics, and even overpopulation—the subject of my second book. Ethics of disasters. »

His first book, In Pain, was the subject of a TED talk.
