What Netflix series Territory ABOUT

A rare and dramatic look at the Australian cattle industry. Territory details the brutal struggle for power in a remote and unforgiving outback. Where was Territory Removed?

Netflix series Territory was filmed in both the Northern Territory and South Australia, and was produced in some of the country’s most brutal environments. According to the show’s producers, the real Tipperary station, which houses 42,000 cattle, was used for most of Marianne’s scenes. An apt addition to the fictional location, the working livestock station is so large that it has its own airfield and school. Additional filming locations include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, which was used with special permission from the Traditional Owners, and the small town of Mallala on the Adelaide Plains.

According to the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), Territory It is the largest Netflix series ever filmed in South Australia, with both production and post-production taking place in the state. Production began in 2023 with support from the SAFC Screen Production Fund and SA PDV Rebate, with production crews using SAFC’s Adelaide Studios premises and filming on location.

“Not only is the six-part series filmed in South Australia, but post-production will take place here, creating even more jobs for our talented film sector,” said South Australian Arts Minister Andrea Michaels MP. “Attracting major international streaming platforms such as Netflix to South Australia speaks volumes about the remarkable craftsmanship and creativity of our Adelaide studio. The Malinauskas Government will continue to invest in and support our world-class film industry to tell Australian stories to the world.”

Territory will be released worldwide on Netflix on October 24, 2024 as part of Netflix’s growing slate of Australian films. The drama series follows the successful run of television miniseries.
