Tasmania Police fined drivers $146 for failing to indicate a turn at a roundabout

Tasmania Police fined drivers 6 for failing to indicate a turn at a roundabout

Several drivers have been caught in a police operation to misuse turn signals on roundabouts.

Police stopped 10 motorists at the Rosney Park roundabout on Hobart’s east bank on Monday for failing to indicate when to turn left, right or make a U-turn.

It was also established that one driver was driving under the influence of drugs.

“When leaving a roundabout, drivers should signal left where possible. This applies when driving straight ahead,” police said.

Police say violating drivers can expect violation notices by mail.

Under Tasmania’s traffic laws, failure to display a sign at a roundabout can result in a fine of $146.25 and two penalty points.
