Cornerstone appeal to install 5G phone tower in Wolverhampton rejected

Cornerstone appeal to install 5G phone tower in Wolverhampton rejected

A planning inspector has rejected an application for a 5G phone mast.

Telecommunications infrastructure company Cornerstone wanted to install a 20.6m (68ft) mast on Codsall Road, on the outskirts of Wolverhampton.

The town council had previously refused planning permission due to the impact it would have on people living there, but the company appealed.

However, the planning inspector agreed with the advice and rejected the appeal, ruling that, due to its height and size, the mast would appear as a garish, incongruous, man-made feature in the landscape.
