Lidl has urgently recalled one of its salads over concerns it may contain copper.

Fresh Meadow potato salads sold in supermarkets may be unsafe to eat after traces of metal were found in them.

This includes 500 g products with yoghurt and sour cream.

Usage by date includes: December 7, December 12, December 13, December 14, December 16, December 21 and December 23.

The Food Standards Agency said: “These products may contain pieces of copper which makes them unsafe to eat.

“If you bought the above products, do not eat them.

“Instead, return them to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.”

Tesco has announced an urgent recall of its Tzatziki sauce after salmonella was found in the product.

This morning a recall was issued for 200g jars of sauces from the supermarket, which have an expiration date on the lid: 11/24/20204.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps that can last 4 to 7 days.

Diarrhea can often be severe enough to require hospitalization.

Consumers are advised not to eat the affected lot and return it to the point of sale.
