Woman charged with aggravated assault after allegedly attacking toddler in Perth

A 21-year-old woman has been charged after a small child was attacked in the city yesterday. Perth.

A two-year-old girl was being held by her mother at a shopping center in East Victoria Park when a stranger hit her.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested after she was spotted at Mirrabooka Shopping Center at around 11:10am (2:10pm AEDT).

Shortly later, she was charged with one count of aggravated assault causing bodily harm.

Employees working in nearby stores say the attack happened incredibly quickly, with only the mother’s screams being heard as nearby shoppers rushed to help.

The girl suffered facial injuries.

The 21-year-old woman will appear in court tomorrow.
