Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday announced that women employees will now get an additional 12 days of unpaid leave (CL) annually over and above the 15 days they are currently getting, an official statement issued by the CMO said. The current government followed Deputy Prime Minister Pravati Parida’s announcement on Independence Day that female employees would be entitled to a day’s paid menstrual leave per month.

The number of additional CLs for women since March this year was 10, as announced by the previous BJD government, “taking into account family responsibilities and various concerns of women.”

Now the number of CL for women has increased by two.

“All women employees of the Government of Odisha can avail additional CL annually beyond the 15 days they are currently receiving,” an official release said on Tuesday. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi gave directions in this regard.

Now the number of CS for female employees will be 27 days, and men are entitled to 15 days of unpaid leave.
