Paul Kelly announces Australia and New Zealand tour in 2025

Australian music icon Paul Kelly has announced his biggest shows to date in Australia and New Zealand and his only live shows in 2025. Perth’s RAC Arena is the first taxi to fail, followed by eight huge concerts in Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart. , Adelaide, Melbourne, Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland in August and September 2025.

New studio album: Fever Longing Still

The news comes ahead of Kelly’s upcoming studio album, Fever Longing Still, which will be released on November 1st. A film adaptation of his hit “How To Make Gravy” will also be released in December.

Fever Longing Still marks his first album of new original material since 2018’s Nature, making 12 additions to a superb catalog of love songs spanning over 40 years. The name comes from a line from Shakespeare’s sonnet 147, whose work has inspired Kelly since her school years.

With 17 ARIAs and five APRAs, as well as being awarded the Order of Australia in 2017, few songwriters have found ways to keep the creative fever going as long and as vibrantly as Kelly. The country of his birth, its emotional interior and geographical landscape, its heroes and villains, its hopes and failures, were all a constant in Kelly’s long list of Australian songs.

From live recordings and compilations to Christmas standards and originals, variety has long been key to Kelly’s recording career, which has included albums from bluegrass and country (Smoke and Foggy Highway) to funk and soul (Professor Ratbaggy, The Merri Soul Sessions). , along with classic records like Gossip and Post .

Kelly will be joined in Australia by special guest Jason Isbell, as well as the 400 Unit and Australian country singer Fanny Lumsden. Meanwhile in New Zealand, singer-songwriter Reb Fountain will be the opening act.

How to get tickets

General public tickets for all shows go on sale from 3pm on Wednesday 30 October through Frontier Touring. However, Frontier members can get early access through the Frontier Member Pre-sale starting Monday, October 28th at 3:00 p.m.
