“We drove through Bardon… and all of a sudden, in the blink of an eye, this truck slammed right into the front of us,” he said.

“It was an almighty collapse. I blacked out for a while, two passengers in the back, a little girl screaming and crying… the woman was saying, “I can’t breathe,” and I said, “Oh my God, I need to do this.” anything’.”

A woman sitting in the back seat called Van Den Camp a “hero” for helping pull the four-year-old to safety.

Van Den Camp said his passengers were distraught and the girl “suffered quite a few injuries.”

“I tried the back doors but I couldn’t open them, they were locked, so I went back to my door, reached to my side of the back door, unlocked it and was able to open it,” he said.
