Wildflower Academy closes amid child abuse allegations in Sioux Falls

Parents of children who attend Wildflower Academy Day Care were notified Tuesday that the day care center will be temporarily closed as police investigate an allegation of child abuse, according to a news release from the Sioux Falls Police Department.

Around noon on Tuesday, Sioux Falls police received a report from the Department of Human Services that potential child abuse was occurring at the facility.

Wildflower Academy’s website states that the school’s mission is to provide “a warm and nurturing environment in which children feel safe.”

The press release said no arrests have been made at this time.

Representatives for Wildflower Academy had no comment on the allegation at the time of publication of this article.
