Emily Megan Grace Hamilton, 15, died Thursday, October 17, 2024.

She was born December 5, 2008 to Elisha (Wade) Hamilton.

She was a sophomore at Southwestern Heights High School where she was active in KAYS, Student Council, FCCLA, FFA, Show Choir, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Choir, National Honor Society (NHS), Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) ) and Cheerleading. This year she received an “A” award. She served as a STUCO representative and softball manager for the 2024 season. She also played volleyball in previous years.

In 2023, she became a member of the Liberal Police Department’s cadet program. As a cadet, she was always the first to volunteer, even if it scared her.

She was determined, stubborn, sassy, ​​loving and so sweet and caring. She instantly lit up the room with her vibrant personality and infectious laugh and smile.

Survivors include her mother; brother, Eli Hamilton; sister, Embry Hamilton; grandparents: Vernon Wade, Liberal, Kenny Furr, Crescent, Oklahoma, Brandi Farnsworth, Woodward, Oklahoma, David Hamilton (Mary), Wellington and Lee Ann Barber (Thomas), Tyrone, Oklahoma; honorary grandparents Stan and Sheri Reiss, Kismet; aunts: Faron Gilkey (Jeremiah), Guymon, Oklahoma, Rena Jackson (Christopher), Colorado Springs, Gina Trichak (Mike), Colorado Springs, Jenny Chase (Jason), Kismet, Brianna Furr, Crescent, Oklahoma, Ashley Bond ( Andy), Tyrone, Oklahoma, Brandi Furr, Tyrone, Oklahoma, Tasha Hubbard (Johnny), Wichita and Monique Harris (Davis), Wichita; uncles: Ethan Wade (Trinity), Gilmer, Texas, Rydan Furr, Crescent, Oklahoma, and Ronnie Torres (Lindsey), Wichita; many great-aunts, great-uncles and first cousins; and many friends and classmates.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Keith Groth; great-grandparents Glendon and Elraine Weir; uncle, Chance Wade; aunt Megan Reiss; and cousins ​​Asher Nunn and Paisley Weir.

• A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Southwestern Heights Gymnasium.

Burial will be in Plains Cemetery in Plains.
