One of Perth’s most landmark retail buildings is set to go up for auction after its former tenant moves out.

In September 2023, Bliss Beds took over the former McEwens of Perth building on St John Street.

The Dundee-based retailer has carried out a major refurbishment of the building as part of its brand expansion.

However, last month Bliss moved to a new location on the High Street.

McEvens lived in the building until 2016, and then Beals moved in until 2020.

The store has a basement, ground floor and three upper floors. It includes retail premises, a former cafe, office and warehouse.

According to the listing, the building may “offer potential for conversion.”

It will be auctioned by Clive Emson Auctioneers on November 1st with a guide price of £500,000 to £550,000.

The auctioneer added that he did not have the opportunity to inspect the property himself.

Therefore, anyone interested should do their own research to verify the information provided by the seller.

Meanwhile, the former Brook Taverner building will also go up for auction on November 1.

The premises are also located on St John Street and feature ground floor retail space with a basement.

It will be auctioned with a guide price of £90,000 to £95,000.
