Concrete truck rolls and spills near Brisbane Airport, driver taken to hospital with minor injuries

A concrete truck has crashed and spilled its cargo near Brisbane Airport.

The truck was traveling on Lomandra Dr about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when it overturned.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

It is unclear how he crashed on a straight road on a clear day with no obvious hazards.

“Crews responded to a cement tanker that was located here,” Samuel Duffy from the Queensland Fire Service told 7NEWS.

“The driver has already gotten out of the car.

“It leaks some oil and diesel and some contents from the back.

“The priority is to get the vehicle upright before Brisbane City Council crews come and clean up.”

The road was closed for hours of cleaning.

The road is not typically used by airport passengers, so there was no impact on travelers.
