Metallica will come to Perth with new concerts – The Note

A few weeks ago, Metallica announced their long-awaited return to Australia. Now, Rolling Stone Australia have confirmed they will play at least one show in Perth on Saturday 1 November.

Sources have told the publication that the thrash metal giants will take over the 65,000-capacity Optus Stadium before proceeding with their highly anticipated concert. M72 tour of the east coast of Australia.

It’s big news for Perth metal maniacs and another win for Perth music lovers after Coldplay played two exclusive sets in the city back in 2023, earning a reported $8 million.

Rest M72 Tour dates are expected to be scaled back in the coming weeks, with rumors that the band will perform at the Adelaide Oval as well as shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

News of Metallica’s first Australian tour emerged a few weeks ago after the band took to their website to announce extensive North American dates, releasing the statement: “Finally, North America isn’t our only stop in 2025, as this year year, we will return to Australia and New Zealand after a long absence!!! Stay tuned for a full announcement coming VERY soon.”

Live Nation followed this up by taking part in social media and post a picture of the group with the caption: “Sign up to be the first to know.” Next to the comment are some emojis and a link that takes you to a page where you can join Metallica’s email waitlist.
