Two wanted men arrested at Mount Juliet traffic stop

MT. JULIET, TN (WSMV) – Two wanted men were arrested following a traffic stop in Mount Juliet on Sunday, according to the Mount Juliet Police Department (MJPD).

Police said they initiated a traffic stop on Pleasant Grove Road for an incorrect rear license plate display because the temporary tag did not match the vehicle.

During the stop, the officer discovered that both the driver, a 35-year-old Chattanooga man, and the passenger, a 39-year-old LaVergne man, had active warrants in multiple counties and states, MJPD said.

A Chattanooga man was also found to be driving with a revoked license and was wanted on the following charges:

• Failure to appear on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs outside of Georgia.
• Failure to appear on license revocation charge in Sumner County.
• Rutherford County shoplifting charge.
• Two additional failure to appear warrants from Bradley County.
• Another no-show from Florida.

A LaVergne man was wanted on the following charges:

• Two failure to appear warrants in Nashville for being a felon in possession of a weapon and driving with a suspended license.
• Wilson County warrants for failure to appear on charges of suspended license and simple drug possession.

MJPD also discovered the LaVergne man was in possession of methamphetamine.

“Our team’s attention to detail and proactive patrol work resulted in these significant arrests, helping to keep Mount Juliet safe. We are proud to serve our community with vigilance and dedication every day,” MJPD said.
