Black Ops 6 Developers Respond to Player Requests to Weaken the Recon Combat Specialty

Black Ops 6 players of all skill levels are frustrated by Recon’s combat feature, which allows players to see through walls when spawning, and many are begging the development team for a nerf.

And while we don’t know what exactly these nerfs will be, we do know they’re coming soon. When FaZe Swagg asked the developers about this, they only had one thing to say in response: “Included.”

For those who haven’t yet used the Recon combat specialty in Black Ops 6, it’s essentially a few short seconds of hacking a wall when you spawn. This perk isn’t particularly good for people trying to, say, drop a nuke with a large kill streak. But for the average player it is extremely useful.

The return of Nuketown was great and all, but many parts of the map are easily shootable. Its layout in many ways is not intended for Black Ops 6, and this feature takes away from a lot of the fun of the game, particularly on this map.

However, it’s not just Nuketown. A number of small and cramped maps in BO6 cannot handle this advantage. For players trying to achieve high kill streaks and take advantage of Omnimovement to outsmart their opponent, this specialty makes escape nearly impossible.

This goes doubly true in hardcore games, where getting through walls is a near-instant kill, depending on the weapon.

So how could they weaken this specialty? Maybe reduce the range? Make it so you get a quick snapshot of where the enemy is, rather than a few seconds where you can see them perfectly through walls?

There are a lot of options here depending on how much the developers want to nerf this specialization, so we’ll have to wait and see what they choose when its power inevitably comes down a notch.

This isn’t the only thing players are asking for to be nerfed. The two assault rifles are so powerful that professional players have made a gentleman’s agreement not to use them until they get a weakened hammer.
