Caleb Johnson has 92 yards rushing and the Hawkeyes have a team-high 152 yards. The Badgers have just 114 yards of total offense.

Darrion Dupree’s 13-yard completion gets the Badgers off the goal line, but another incomplete pass on another third-and-long forces another punt. However, Iowa has just three yards on three plays, including two incompletions, and the Badgers have a chance to score before the end of the half as they start from their own 30 yards after another 50-plus-yard punt for 2: 45 to go.

It was another three-and-out for the Badgers after Locke’s third-down throw to Williams went out of the receiver’s hands and was incomplete. The Badgers had yet to convert on third down (0-of-3) with 7:15 left in the half.

A personal foul penalty on Aaron Witt and a 30-yard run by Kamari Moulton helped set up Iowa’s 80-yard touchdown drive, capped by Johnson’s 16-yard run. The game suddenly moves away from Wisconsin as the Hawkeyes increase their lead to 14–3.

The Badgers gain just one yard on three plays and a punt from the 26. Atticus Bertrams’ 42-yard punt extends after an illegal block on the Hawkeyes’ punt return.

Iowa received the ball at the 25 and moved the ball to the UW 38. The Badgers had two tackles for loss and a false start by Iowa, which forced a 56-yard field goal that hit the uprights but was missed by Drew Stevens.

On 3rd and 8, Iowa reciprocated with successive play-action penalties giving the Badgers a first down, but then Lock was sacked for a loss of five yards at the 43-yard line. However, one play later, an unsportsmanlike penalty gives the Badgers another first down at the Iowa 43. Two plays later, Locke hits C.J. Williams for a gain of 18 and a first down at the 25. But another false start and an incomplete throw to the end. The zone sets up 2nd and 15 from the Iowa 30. Vinny Anthony’s quick throw out of bounds gains nine yards. On 3rd-and-6, Lock threw a pass to the opposite end and Nathaniel Vakos kicked a 38-yard field goal to give the Badgers a 3-0 lead with 6:15 left in the first quarter.

There is a “blackout” in Iowa City, with most fans wearing the dominant Hawkeyes colors as the two Big Ten rivals play the league’s sixth game of the season. Predictions for the match Wisconsin – Iowa

Mark Stewart: This sets the stage for a great game for Wisconsin. The Badgers played well last week, but it wasn’t enough to win. However, the experience of facing a top-three opponent prepares UW for the challenges of winning on the road. Wisconsin 24, Iowa 20

JR Radcliffe: This looks like a hugely important game for quarterback Bradyn Lock, who has struggled to get through a game this year without committing at least one turnover. Is he the future champion of this program? If so, this will be an opportunity to show it by leading Wisconsin in a tough but winnable road game against a team that doesn’t have a starting quarterback. The defense has already slowed one potent opponent (Rutgers), but Iowa is the best in the Big Ten in that regard, led by Caleb Johnson. That’s another risk, but I think Iowa has a little more to offer. Iowa 28, Wisconsin 23.
